Friday 6pm–8pm: Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali
This two-hour workshop is an interactive presentation on the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali, which carry the foundations of classical yogic philosophy. We’ll break down the major themes and teachings from the sacred text, translate key sutras, and have conversations that bring the philosophies into the real world with us. Open to all, just bring yourself and a journal.
Saturday 9am–11am: Hatha Vinyasa Sādhana
This two-hour practice will blend together the realms of āsana, prāṇāyāma, and dhyāna. Expect dynamic movement, creative explorations, traditional postures, soothing breathwork, and moments of meditative stillness. Ben will offer his unique style of Sādhana which seeks to use the body as a vessel to witness the mind, senses, and consciousness itself. Open to all.
Saturday 1pm–4pm: Mindful Backbending
This workshop explores the realm of backbending from a gentle yet expansive perspective. We’ll break down various postures designed to lengthen the spine, create volume across the body, and open the frame for the lungs. Expect to get creative with props, learn how to adjust yourself and others, open your shoulders, and refine your practice. The goal is to leave feeling more spherical and less linear. Open to all.
Sunday 9am–12pm: Restorative Workshop: Props, Assists & Alignment
This workshop explores unique variations of restorative postures including hip openers, twists, forward bends, and supported backbends. We’ll break down creative ways to organize props, how to support yourself and/or your students, and how to use your imagination to send breath through your body. As time allows, we’ll discuss how to cultivate a ritualistic home practice that brings you deeper inside yourself. Open to all.
Sunday 2pm–4pm: Bhagavad Gītā Storytime Yin
In this extended Yin / Restorative practice, we’ll settle into supported postures for several minutes each, while Ben reads select verses directly from the Bhagavad Gītā. The Gītā is an essential text of yoga philosophy; across 700 verses, Krishna explains why action (karma) is unavoidable, how wisdom (jñāna) dissolves ignorance, why devotion (bhakti) is the heart of Yoga, and how meditation (dhyāna) turns the mind from an enemy to an ally. Open to all.
